To enable the paradigm shift from professional to self-care in the HF treatment process, PASSION-HF focuses on the development and implementation of Abby: a patient-centred virtual assistant which enables personalised eDiagnostics, advanced HF decision support, monitoring and self-care at home.
The focus is to bring Abby from TRL4 to TRL7 within 3.5 years. This period is required to optimise, test and validate Abby in a clinical setting and to involve the relevant regulatory and insurance bodies in the developing the regulatory requirements to facilitate uptake of Abby after the project end. Abby is aimed at self-care by HF patients at home. This promotes the patients’ abilities to live independently and manage their own care, while facilitating remote access to healthcare professionals only if required. As a result, high-quality HF care will become broadly accessible and much cheaper.
